Report:
In a research conducted in Turkey among the ABC1C2DE socio-economic group aged between 18-55, it was found that 36.6% of the participants had no knowledge about the water crisis caused by climate change and global warming. The participants who were highly concerned about the water crisis were mostly in the 45-55 age group. It was also noted that 5 out of 10 participants expressed fear about climate change and took personal precautions. These concerns about the water and climate crisis indicate that these issues are becoming more significant. It was emphasized that reputation has become critical in addressing these challenges.
Furthermore, the research revealed that 67.1% of the participants closely follow the dam occupancy rates in Turkey. Particularly, participants in the 45-55 age group showed more concern about the water crisis. This data suggests that dam occupancy rates are important for participants to understand the extent of the water crisis and the availability of water sources. Conscious participation regarding dam occupancy rates is expected to help alleviate the water crisis.
The research also highlighted the high water saving awareness in Turkey. The majority of participants (92.2%) stated that they save water in their daily lives. This group is careful not to let water go to waste. The results of the research indicate that citizens in Turkey have a high awareness of water saving, which plays a crucial role in mitigating the water crisis. Government messages about water saving and media coverage of the water crisis also encourage citizens to save water.
